🔴 A WIKI CORRECTION. Tui's own site says 50 hectares, not the 72 ha the wiki carried
Founded 1984, Wainui Bay. Verbatim: “a farm consisting of 50 hectares (125 acres).” The stated acreage reconciles internally — 125 acres ≈ 50.6 ha — so this is not a transcription slip. The wiki’s tui_community page carried 72 ha from LIT_015 (Jones 2011).
land_area_hahas been corrected to 50 and LIT_015’s 72 ha recorded innotes:. A second independent source (OT_192, Jenkin 2011) also states “Tui has fifty hectares”. Also here: ~20 buildings (wood / cob / straw bale); “Some buildings are on mains power, some off-grid”; two orchards with ~40 chickens integrated, organic only; gardens supply weekly community meals; “A small group of Tui residents manages a group of beef cattle for home-kill meat.” Own water system + sewage pond; residents contribute 3–4 hrs/week.
Summary
The Tui Community’s own web page describing its land, buildings, food production, and infrastructure. Tui is a long-standing intentional community at Wainui Bay, Golden Bay, founded in 1984 and held in the Tui Land Trust.
For Neobiome it does two things. First, it corrects a land area the wiki has been carrying incorrectly — a figure that feeds directly into the density typology used by the NI community archetypes (RT_331). Second, it is one of very few NZ community sources that describes a food system at all: orchards with integrated poultry, gardens supplying communal meals, and a small beef operation run for home-kill. Consistent with CR_055’s third declared negative, it describes but does not quantify any of it — no areas, no yields, no diet share.
The energy detail is also notable and easy to miss: “Some buildings are on mains power, some off-grid.” A 40-year-old rural intentional community is partly grid-connected by choice, which is the same deliberate not-full-autonomy stance the corpus records at Earthsong (Interview VI [INT_006]).

The Tui case has two independent sources agreeing, an internally consistent acre/hectare pair, and a large discrepancy. The Riverside case has one journalistic figure that plausibly rounds the existing one. Only Tui was changed.
⚠ This propagates. land_area_ha for Tui feeds the NI community-archetype density typology; RT_331 also repeated “Tui (72 ha)” and has been corrected in the same pass. Any other derived density figure built on 72 ha is now wrong by 44%.
2. A described-but-unquantified NZ community food system. Orchards + ~40 integrated chickens, communal-meal gardens, and beef for home-kill. This is exactly the pattern CR_055’s third negative describes and OT_190 measures: NZ communities do produce food across several categories, but no source quantifies the share of diet, the land used, or the fat/oil strategy. Tui adds another instance of the pattern, not a number.
No engine cell is auto-changed by this ingest, but the land_area_ha correction is a data change to an existing case page, which is rarer and more consequential than an additive evidence bullet.
